Jason Barnes's Biography
Hello!
My name is Jason Barnes and I grew up in Warrenton, VA. I just graduated from the University of Richmond in May with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish. While in college, I had the awesome opportunity to travel to Kenya during a summer and spend a semester in Nicaragua. Also, after graduation, some friends and I embarked on a 40 day road trip to visit national parks, climb mountains, visit family and friends and see parts of the country we’d never seen. It was awesome. I love riding bicycles, being outside and hanging out with friends and family. I’m the second of four boys and my parents are absolutely wonderful.
Through a series of crazy circumstances, the Lord brought me here to Church Hill and I really couldn’t be any more excited. I love working with kids and I’m excited to be teaching. I can’t say enough about the community we have here and I feel incredibly blessed to be doing this for the next year.

Doug Clementson's Biography
The name’s James Douglas Clementson. I love my Jesus, my music, them movies, and your food. I was recently graduated from Old Dominion University with a major in history and a minor in sociology, so basically I learned a lot about myself but am unqualified for almost everything else. That said, I loved my time there, especially my pursuit in history, and would never think for a second that another school would have been a better fit for me.
Currently, I am one of the six fine gentlemen who dwell in the magnificent Lighthouse. We all have utterly transformed this fine establishment into a truly fine establishment with the most graceful of touches. Under MadDog’s watch we can do no wrong.
Jesus once accused the rich young ruler for language abuse when he misunderstood the word ‘good’. I too think I know what deserves to be dubbed with love or hate when I constantly label trivialities under such titles, but there is one instance where I find that absolutes are completely necessary. Take the band Nickleback for instance. I probably think about proving this band to be one of the vilest bands in existence every day. One of these days I’m going to do it, but for now I’ll stick with just making fun of them as my explanation. I plead to you, my beloved audience, tell me some attribute that can redeem this… band?. I am fond of the spastic, lo-fi sound, but I am digging on some piano music at the moment. Besides music, I adore ultimate frisbee, climbing obstacles, and reading.
I came into contact with CHAT when I volunteered over spring break with ODU’s InterVarsity two years ago and have never been the same since. My time here bombarded me with questions that God blessed me with. The only answer to these questions that I could see was to seek God out where I encountered the questions. As a result, I interned that summer. It was probably one of the best times of my life experiencing questions in an atmosphere centered on community which I had never been amongst before. I left with more questions than when I entered. When ODU did their second service trip I think I was hooked. Not that I knew I was going to come back and intern at that point because I didn’t, but in the back of my mind I saw the people of Church Hill, whom I could never forget, and knew that I would be back. Well here I am. Another internship and another opportunity to get to know and attempt to dedicate myself to my Lord as well as the people around me who I know will mold me into the man who I long to be.
Come and sit on our stoop as I know I’m invited to yours. If not, get your brooms to shoo me away because I’m a’coming.

Sara Perkin's Biography
I am from New Canaan, Connecticut and graduated from the University of Richmond in May 2009 with a major in Studio Art and minors in Art History and French. I teach Art and Latin at Church Hill Academy, work with the ‘little tykes’ on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, help lead CHAT's after school art program on Wednesday afternoons, and take part in various other exciting activities with my fellow year-long interns. I am beyond enthused to be spending this year in the neighborhood of Church Hill with the CHAT and CHA staff as well as those who worship at EEF; learning how serve and be served, as well as be a neighbor and a community in Christ.
I am passionate about many things, not limited to; art, music, the outdoors, reading, cooking, being active, kids and dogs. Sometimes I have to limit myself though, as there aren’t nearly enough hours in the day.
I am living with Caitlin Del Conte at the Withrow household, (which will be welcoming another - much smaller - resident this fall!)

Ben Rybolt's Biography
I am a year long intern for CHAT and will be teaching physics and physical science at Church Hill Academy. I will also be doing after school tutoring and help out with the outdoors program. I grew up in Chattanooga Tennessee with my loving parents and three wonderful sisters. I love playing sports, soccer, tennis, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, swimming and running. I also love being outside, whether that means cliff jumping and rope swinging, whitewater kayaking, or just listening to the crickets chirp while watching the sunset; I enjoy it all.
In 2005 I started classes at the University of Richmond. It was while there that I heard about the work CHAT was doing and volunteered with the afterschool program. When I graduated in 2009 with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics I knew I wanted to try my hand at teaching. Church Hill Academy facilitated this passion to teach while CHAT provided me with a place to pursue living in an intentional community committed to serving their neighbors.
